HELP CENTER

I’ve compiled a list of the most frequent questions that I am often asked. It is normal and encouraged to ask many questions when choosing to work with a registered Music Therapist. Here are some answers to the questions I receive the most. If you can’t find what you are looking for, please get in touch.

Listening to Music

What happens in a music therapy session?

Music therapy uses a variety of methods which include; song listening, improvising, song writing, music and imagery and singing. Every session will be individually tailored to your needs and how you are feeling on the day. We harness an eclectic approach to therapy which can include humanistic, psychodynamic, ecological and behavioural approaches.

Piano Lesson

Do I need to know how to play music?

The short answer is No. Music therapy allows everyone to create and listen to music without any previous experience. Our sessions are a safe space where you can feel free to make whatever sounds you wish.

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Most sessions are one hour. This can be adjusted to suit your needs.
